Hoolie's Story

Hoolie was an orange roan cocker spaniel born in July 1993. He was very aptly named, often being called 'Hooligan'. He loved life, was a very active little dog and was renowned in the Team for being the 'Dog most likely to be dirty'. The smallest amount of rain or even dew and Hoolie was soaking wet and muddy!! Nobody knew how he managed it!  He loved being in the Team especially the second half of a race when he would suddenly double his speed and fly to the finish.

Hoolie was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2001

He visited Cambridge but sadly was given just 4 weeks to live without exceptionally major surgery or possibly up to 6 months if he had surgery.  It was decided that he would not be subjected to any treatment but would continue to live a normal life for as long as possible.  However he amazed everyone and lived a happy life for exactly a year beyond predictions.

Hoolie died in September 2002 aged 9 years
